
Dr. Abbaa Sarhan completed her undergraduate studies at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and as a University Honors Program Scholar. She obtained her medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine, graduating with Distinction as a member of the national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Sarhan stayed at the George Washington University for residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology where she was appointed as an Administrative Chief Resident and won multiple awards including the Resident Excellence Award for her teaching, academic, and clinical excellence. She then pursued fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the historically renowned Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia which was the site of the first IVF baby in the United States. Her research studies and thesis focused on the regulation of a novel protein in the endometrium which may play an important role during the window of implantation.
She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Sarhan has been appointed to the academic faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at George Washington University.
Dr. Sarhan grew up locally in Rockville, Maryland, and is excited to practice in her hometown area. She is fluent in Arabic and enjoys taking care of a diverse patient population.
